Two-Weapon Fighting Single-Die Model
Overview
This model keeps dual-wielding fast by avoiding extra damage dice and separate offhand attack rolls.
Procedure
- Character uses a melee weapon in each hand.
- Gain +1 to hit.
- On hit, roll one damage die: the higher die among equipped weapons.
- If both weapons are magical, apply only the higher magic bonus.
- Classes with slow attack/save progression (for example magic-user progression cadence) do not gain the +1 to-hit bonus.
Design Intent
- Distinguish dual wielding from sword-and-board without doubling attack throughput.
- Maintain fast resolution under old-school turn pressure.
