Two-Weapon Fighting Single-Die Model

Overview

This model keeps dual-wielding fast by avoiding extra damage dice and separate offhand attack rolls.

Procedure

  1. Character uses a melee weapon in each hand.
  2. Gain +1 to hit.
  3. On hit, roll one damage die: the higher die among equipped weapons.
  4. If both weapons are magical, apply only the higher magic bonus.
  5. Classes with slow attack/save progression (for example magic-user progression cadence) do not gain the +1 to-hit bonus.

Design Intent

  • Distinguish dual wielding from sword-and-board without doubling attack throughput.
  • Maintain fast resolution under old-school turn pressure.
