Repeated Search Turn-Cost Procedure

Overview

This procedure prevents one-and-done dead ends while preserving time pressure through explicit turn expenditure.

Procedure

  1. Resolve initial search/listen check.
  2. If party retries, spend one exploration turn.
  3. Make next check.
  4. Repeat as desired while tracking all turn-based consequences.

Why It Matters

  • Players can push through uncertainty.
  • Wandering encounter risk and resource burn remain active.
  • Keeps exploration choices meaningful.
